13:00:50 From Debby Ellison : Mastermind Your Health 13:01:04 From Debby Ellison : I’ve written a numb er of books on exercise. 13:01:40 From Chris S. : my next book: Next Shiny Object Syndrome 13:02:25 From Chris S. to Ed Gandia(Privately) : There is some distortion from your mic. Too close? 13:02:40 From Chris S. to Ed Gandia(Privately) : Sounds great 13:03:34 From Debby Ellison : Completed website copy. 13:04:01 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : W: Finished a lot of work of my website and submitted for feedback 13:04:07 From Chris S. to Ed Gandia(Privately) : I've been in Link Fixing Hell for a tech writing project. 13:04:22 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : Thanks Susan for that feedback! I'm working on incorporating your feedback into some revisions 13:04:39 From Chris S. to Ed Gandia(Privately) : I'm not sure what that project is. Could it be a different Chris? This is Chris S. 13:07:35 From Debby Ellison : I was hoping to get feedback by now on the website copy, but Ed has not had a chance to look at it. (I hired him and Jennifer to put up my site. I get paralyzed on the technical end. 13:08:51 From Chris S. to Ed Gandia(Privately) : Q: I know Ed's position about not spending time creating sample writing projects. One of Ed's past podcast guests in a recent webinar said that a PAID Apprenticeship is way that a many new writers learn the B2B writing ropes. What do you think about this? 13:08:54 From Debby Ellison : I chose 2 other urls, based on your feedback last time: experthealthwriter.com and healthbizwriter.com. Does one sound better to you? 13:09:22 From Chris S. : Q: I know Ed's position about not spending time creating sample writing projects. One of Ed's past podcast guests in a recent webinar said that a PAID Apprenticeship is way that a many new writers learn the B2B writing ropes. What do you think about this? 13:10:59 From Chris S. : According to her, Paid Apprenticeships involve a senior writer subcontracting a new writer and providing feeback for the writier. 13:12:21 From Chris S. : I'll post that in the Facebook group. This topic was not mentioned in Ed's podcast with her. She did this privately. 13:12:59 From Chris S. : And a Great topic for a future podcast for Ed!! 13:13:06 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : Q: Susan, the distinction you made in my website feedback between the Why Me page versus About page was helpful. So I'm working on updating my About page to be more story focused. Is there a recommended structure to my story? Should it have unexpected challenges (that are often featured in the best stories)? 13:15:01 From Debby Ellison : Thank you! 13:20:06 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : Okay that makes sense. I will add some of my personal interests. Keeping the narrative concise is a bit challenging, though 13:24:20 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : Four or so paragraphs make sense. I got lost in my story draft the other day, so need to edit some more 13:26:20 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : Thanks Susan! 13:26:52 From Brittany : Quick question. Session 8 talks about nurturing and sending thoughtful content to "NYR"s. If I have a prospect who was in a forward-moving conversation (before the phone call and fee agreement) but they suddenly stopped responding without *saying* they're not ready yet, is this another instance when I use the nurturing process? (feels too passive) Or do I pop back in the conversation with, "Have you gotten a chance to think about this project more?" (feels slightly annoying)? 13:28:59 From Brittany : I did listen to that podcast, but I thought that was in the scenario of having already sent them a fee agreement. Let me know if it's the same case for *before* the fee agreement 13:34:17 From Brittany : Great. Thanks Susan! I do have 1 or 2 more questions, but I want to let other questions get answered first 13:36:52 From Brittany : Longer question, sorry. In Session 6, it's mentioned that if the prospect pushes, via email, for a fee estimate, you should say "it depends on several factors" ...xyz. I've felt the need to add a factor that I'm not sure I'm phrasing in the best way: I've found that I need to quickly determine, when prospects ask about articles, whether they mean "here's a topic, run with it, I'm hands-off" or a thought-leadership type of article with an interview or somewhere in-between. I've found a client who wants me to just run with it without an interview. Should I be shutting this down? I feel like these could be a lot more time-intensive to write. 13:37:02 From Brittany : Sounds good! 13:37:33 From Debby Ellison : I am not planning to use old writing samples, based on your feedback last time. I do have a few more recent ones (last year) but in a totally different industry. National RV Training Academy) Would there be any advantage to using those? It seems it would be confusing. 13:56:26 From Debby Ellison : Perfect, thanks. One more question: since I am targeting lifestyle medicine practitioners who already have websites, I was wondering if a website “audit” might be a good door-opener? 14:03:15 From Debby Ellison : Thank you! Well, one more if nobody else has one. Have you had success working with associations/training organizations to help their members? 14:04:49 From Chris S. : T: Important reminder to not call their baby ugly. 14:06:20 From Debby Ellison : Yes, I’ve been exploring those this weekTake-away: pursue courtesy website audit as a conversation starter. (Ways to strengthen) 14:11:38 From Debby Ellison : I agree — that has certainly been my experience in other careers. Thanks. 14:13:00 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : A: Finish edits to my site. Edit LinkedIn profile to be consistent with updated website 14:13:42 From Debby Ellison : A: Complete Starter List and begin warm emails. Check out a course on website audits. Photo shoot for website. Research organizations: associations, coaching programs. 14:14:23 From Chris S. : A: Re-think and write my positioning statement. 14:14:42 From Debby Ellison : AWAI has a short course on website audits. 14:15:44 From Chris S. : Thank you Susan! 14:15:53 From Debby Ellison : Bye!
