12:59:19 From Scott Geesey : All good 12:59:21 From Sam : Loud and clear. 12:59:24 From Chris S. : Hey Susan. Good morning! 12:59:30 From Laird Raymond : Hi Susan 12:59:37 From Scott Geesey : Having steak pizza for lunch, mark that one down 12:59:44 From Sam : Watermelon. 12:59:45 From CherylB : Hello. Hot, hot, hot in Dubuque IA. WATERMELON!!! 13:00:05 From Chris S. : cold grapes and melon 13:00:08 From CherylB : lower 90's 13:01:04 From Gabrielle : Mangoes! 13:01:08 From Scott Geesey : Another vote for watermelon 13:02:08 From Scott Geesey : W: Is this a win? I finally have a hit list of people to contact. 13:02:40 From Scott Geesey : Too much time I think. 13:02:52 From Sam : Finally getting comfortable with Wix. About to go live. 13:03:33 From Sam : It’s a bit overwhelming at first. 13:03:38 From Chris S. : W: Completed my revision of a 600 page doc (day job). This course material was on hold last week, out of necessity. 13:03:40 From Gabrielle : W: Had a qualifying call with a prospect. I think I talked myself out of the job - the work they’re interested in is work I suggested they wait a bit for - but… it was good experience to have the call! (It was with my uncle but still) 13:05:09 From CherylB : W: 2 big wins. I was contacted last week via LinkedIn by a fellow I worked with on an SAP Business Warehouse Project in Rotterdam almost a decade ago. Have not been in touch since the last time I wrote some programs for him in my former life. We had a very long conversation. He was very encouraging. I am taking it as a good omen. Also was contacted by the owner of my favorite local restaurant for one of my pro bono projects. Stay tuned... 13:05:38 From Gabrielle : Thanks! 13:06:04 From Laird Raymond : W: Singed up with 3 companies to analyze their blog and email copy. Then approach them with samples. 13:06:12 From Kellie : W: I asked a fellow freelancer to let me know if he ever had too much work and could use an extra hand. Surprise! Just days later, he asked me to write a byline for one of his clients! 13:06:44 From Gabrielle : Congrats Laird! 13:06:54 From Gabrielle : Oh congrats Kellie! 13:07:27 From Laird Raymond : I did not get the gig as yet. It just an interest.. 13:07:36 From Gabrielle : Ohh 13:07:54 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : W: I started the B2B launcher program in early April at the start of the Covid pandemic. Many stressors threw me way off course. But in the past week, I restarted the B2B Launcher program, and am now working on updating the copy for my web site. 13:08:36 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : Thank-you! 13:08:49 From Kellie : Congrats Matt! 13:09:02 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : Thanks Kellie! 13:10:42 From Chris S. : Q: Any advise for proposing a white paper project (without having a sample) to a prospect. Pro bono, or modest fee? 13:11:09 From Chris S. : Advice...(not advise). LOL 13:18:58 From Gabrielle : Q: What do you think about approaching people on LinkedIn vs via email? A lot of the time I struggle to find an email address for a person in a company, but I can find someone who might be right on LinkedIn, I’m just not sure if that would be a place I could prospect. 13:27:27 From Gabrielle : Ok cool. I’ve gone through all the sessions but I’ll rewatch your trainings. I just remembered them being about building a network, rather than actively prospecting. I did enjoy/learn a lot from them when I watched them though! Thanks for doing those for us :) 13:27:50 From Gabrielle : I guess mentally I was just associating this programme with email prospecting. 13:28:53 From Gabrielle : “Don’t feel uncomfortable” - thanks! 13:30:02 From Gabrielle : Ohh. That’s a helpful tip! 13:33:32 From Kellie : Q: How are others pushing past fear and uncertainty? I’m just over here stuck ON THE VERY FIRST MODULE and feeling somewhat defeated about that. 13:37:02 From Gabrielle : Q: Related to Kellie’s question… any suggestions for staying positive when prospecting? I’m determined to keep going but when it comes down to repeating the effort over and repeatedly it’s draining. 13:44:29 From Kellie : Thanks!! Definitely feeling better! 13:44:52 From Laird Raymond : @Kellie. I understand how you feel. Really I do. I’ve seen many people shoot past me with success and I feel discouraged. I have been stuck several times in the B2B program. I signed up since last Dec 2019 and don’t have even have my first client as yet. However I’m committed to being a copywriter. And I feel that the floodgates can happen anytime. But my mindset is to make it a routine and just keep at it. So you are not alone… just hang in there. We are all here for you!!! 13:59:03 From Gabrielle : @Kellie - I give myself time to feel whatever it is for a moment or a few minutes in the morning, and then I say ok now I’m moving on and will focus on work for the day. I don’t tell myself I need to get over the feelings, just that I’m not going to let them direct my whole day (if it’s a day I want to be working). So I hold space and acknowledge those feelings, and even tell myself I can go back to feeling them later, once I get to the end of my day. 14:01:01 From Laird Raymond : Very helpful thank you… much @Susan & @Gabrielle 14:01:37 From Gabrielle : Thanks for sharing your determination Laird! It’s motivating! 14:01:57 From Gabrielle : T: prospect on LinkedIn! 14:03:56 From Chris S. : A great daily practice that helps me purge negative thought and mental clutter is writing Morning Pages each day (from Julia Cameron's book The Artist's Way). It's a free form writing practice that takes about 20 min. each morning - the only rules are: you are not allowed to edit, revise, or re-read what you write, and that you must fill 3 pages of hand written words. This a powerful way to tell your Inner Critic to Shut the F*ck Up! 14:05:05 From Chris S. : Awesome that Ed does that as well! 14:05:15 From Gabrielle : I write in the morning too! 14:05:26 From Gabrielle : The length varies though. 14:05:27 From Chris S. : Great, Gabrielle! 14:05:32 From Gabrielle : Yea! Love it :) 14:06:02 From Sam : I’ve been doing morning pages for 11 years. That, plus meditation plus Elevate brain training are part of my daily ritual. 14:06:35 From Chris S. : Outstanding, Sam! 14:06:43 From CherylB : Morning pages are sure a better way to start the morning instead of obsessing on Facebook and CNN. Going to start tomorrow!! Thank you. 14:07:12 From Gabrielle : Haha yes! 14:08:18 From Chris S. : Excellent, Cheryl! BTW, as a fast track approach, you could buy the Morning Pages book from Cameron, which only focuses on that. 14:08:28 From Sam : T: Your insights into the power of LinkedIn. I’ve never really used it but I notice that I have almost 600 connections. Certainly there are good prospects in there. 14:08:39 From Laird Raymond : T: With LinkedIn articles also comment on other people’s posts. 14:09:27 From CherylB : I have had that book for years. Didn't do morning pages because I was working and only got up at the last minute. Retired now, so I am in control of my days. Just a little hard getting used to that fact. 14:10:30 From CherylB : Ha! Have that one too. Listened to the Podcast and bought the book. Need to crack it open. 14:10:59 From Chris S. : OMG! Atomic Habits it amazing! Very well researched and written. I also recommend the Audible version as well! 14:11:00 From Gabrielle : Yea that was a great episode and the book is on my To Read list. 14:11:12 From Gabrielle : Cool thanks guys 14:11:40 From CherylB : I love the idea. Just have a lot of lazy habits I need to break. One of which is reading books about better habits. 14:12:01 From Chris S. : His newsletter - 3, 2, 1 every Thursday 14:14:02 From Gabrielle : A: Levelling up my LinkedIn knowledge. 14:14:07 From Matt Shannon matt@ascenify.com : A: Finish the web copy for my website 14:14:30 From CherylB : A: I think changing some of my habits is critical. And adding some structure and discipline to my days. 14:15:00 From Chris S. : A: Finish Modules 1 and 2 and re-do the exercises. 14:15:24 From CherylB : I was so burnt out from work that I have kind of been in free fall for 2 years. Time to move on. 14:15:52 From Sam : A: Begin Session 4, which requires a completed website (almost done!). 14:16:02 From Laird Raymond : A: Dissecting copy. And continue contacting cold prospects in industries outside of my speciality. 14:17:25 From Chris S. : Thank you!
