It involved a golf simulator. I think it was a darned good e-mail. 13:06:37 From Alison : W: an ex-colleague has recommended me to her marketing director - he wants a call soon to discuss some things. I said I would do a pro bono project but he is prepared to pay and says I shouldn’t under quote! 13:06:41 From Shannon Vincent : W: Registered my LLC (and waiting on not one but two!) signed fee agreements to come in today:) 13:07:36 From Esther Hodge : W: Just this week I had 2 promising prospects materialize from my network 13:08:06 From Charlene : W: Listening today from bed, I've been sick since Christmas. I gave client work all my time. 13:11:49 From zeljko : i: talking with few potential clients at different stages 13:12:10 From Alison : I: session 8, but still doing work from 5 & 6 13:14:43 From Susan Langmann : Q: How much time do you recommend spending on researching a prospect in order to write the first warm email 13:14:56 From Taylor Stonely : Q: How about talking more about the practical side of running a copywriting business, i.e. corporate structure, health care costs, payroll, etc. 13:17:00 From Taylor Stonely : ...and how to make that transition from a full-time job to doing copywriting full time? 13:19:51 From Shannon Vincent : Customizing warm emails has boosted my response rate to almost 100%! It's amazing the difference when you do this! 13:20:02 From Susan Langmann : Yes very helpful 13:21:50 From zeljko : Few friends from the industry recommended writing LinkedIn articles as a great way for promotion. How effective can be writing LinkedIn articles? 13:24:19 From Shannon Vincent : Ed has two podcast episodes about alternative health care options for freelancers. I can't recall the episode numbers, but I've listened to them a couple of times, very informative. 13:27:46 From Taylor Stonely to Ed Gandia(Privately) : Thanks, that advice is very helpful! 13:28:25 From Alison : Q: Sometimes when I research companies on LinkedIn, I can’t see the names of their marketing people because they’re not in my network. I’m wondering if I should try to connect to some more marketing people. I’m not sure what I’d say as I don’t have any specific reason to reach out to them - so is it a good idea? 13:30:59 From Chris Pawar : Q: I’ve been given the opportunity to write a journal article. Is that a shiny object? I am getting paid and I feel it will lend more credibility to my writing. Do you agree? 13:31:32 From Esther Hodge : Q: Right now I am finding prospects outside of my niche through my network, even though I am concentrating my prospecting in my niche. Would it be wise to pursue both in parallel or should I consider pivoting away from where I want to focus? 13:31:34 From Beth : Q: i’ve had my domain name for a year, and my website up for 8 months, but when i google my company name, my website doesn’t appear in the results. i haven’t driven a lot of traffic to it, admittedly, but i have registered it with google, it’s wordpress-based, I use their SEO tools, i use google analytics. i’m not sure what i’m missing, or if i just need to drive more traffic with prospecting, and make a few improvements to my content. 13:32:55 From zeljko : Yes, it helps, thanks. The focus is on prospecting! 13:41:12 From Chris Pawar to Ed Gandia(Privately) : Thanks for allowing me to be on the call! 13:44:58 From Esther Hodge : Appreciate it. Thanks! 13:48:31 From Chris Pawar to Ed Gandia(Privately) : Susan, I need to jump off the call now. Not sure if it’s relevant but one thing I wish I had done before I got more clients was do MORE prospecting. Lord knows it gets harder when you have to spend time writing! 13:48:47 From Chris Pawar to Ed Gandia(Privately) : thanks again for everything. 13:48:56 From Daniel Lona : QUESTION: My target market is fitness & nutrition businesses. My preference is to focus on targeting successful solo entrepreneurs and/or independent studio owners. That said, I could probably find clients who could more easily pay for more services if I targeted larger companies. But my heart is with entrepreneurs who are solo or have a small team. Plus, I feel it’s easier for me to start with that group in terms of getting a foothold with them. Do you have a suggestion? Should I be aiming for businesses that have much larger revenue? I don’t want to make this initial process more difficult than it needs to be, but I’m a bit torn. Thank you very much! 13:54:48 From Daniel Lona : That’s great advice! Thank you, Susan! 13:55:41 From Esther Hodge : I must drop off now. Have a great rest of the week everyone! 13:56:50 From Sally : V Good discussion about LinkedIn. 13:56:54 From Valicia Burke-France : V: Prospecting various business sizes 13:57:00 From Alison : V: small steps are still steps 13:57:01 From Susan Langmann : B: All the comments and discussions concerning Prospecting 13:57:05 From Beth : V: eager to go listen to ed’s podcasts regarding business setup/structure; i didn’t realize those were out there. 13:57:37 From Shannon Vincent : V: The importance of consistent prospecting! Always valuable! 13:57:43 From Charlene : V: slow down to go fast 13:57:49 From Alison : V: also really interested to listen to Ed’s podcasts about business stuff 13:59:19 From zeljko : decided to read sessions' transcripts during the next week, a lot of excellent questions 14:00:26 From Valicia Burke-France : Thanks so much! What about approaching agencies before doing all the company prospecting? 14:01:32 From Charlene : A: Marketing plan...so I have my action goals in front of me, then work the plan 14:02:11 From Susan Langmann : A: Getting a weekly/daily prospecting process in place and complete the course sessions. 14:02:23 From Beth : A: Focus!
